Credentials & Approach: I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker specializing in work with youth 0-18. It is not uncommon for children to need a little extra help overcoming some of life's biggest challenges, and I am here to help them through while also working directly with the parent and/or caregivers to develop thoughtful treatment goals, plans, and ongoing support. I am trained and certified in numerous issues facing children, including:
Foster Care and Adoption
Attachment and Bonding
Life Transitions and Adjustments
Changes to the Family Structure
Grief and Loss
Separation Anxiety
Anxiety, Depressions, and other Mood Disturbances
Issues relating to Behavior and Conduct
And other common stressors relating to childhood development and upbringing
To address these concerns, I utilize the following approaches in my work:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Directive Play Therapy
Child-Focused Play Therapy
Sand Tray Therapy
Parent-Child Relationship Work
More About Me:
I received my Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice as well as my Master of Social Work from California State University, Chico. I chose to became a therapist to help individuals process and heal from all types of traumas. I want to help my clients become free from life's stressors. I enjoy working with diverse populations served, with a specialty in working with children 5 to 17 and adults
If I didn't become a therapist, I would have gone into Law Enforcement or become a Firefighter. Both of these professions provides the ability to help those on typically their worst days.
Outside of the therapeutic setting, you can find me enjoying anything outdoors: hiking, fishing, snowboarding, and doing anything with my dogs.
I look forward to meeting you!
